I’m just a no one you prolly never heard of me
I put out the song “Why Boast” back on my first EP (What I Believe)
That was like five years ago, hoping you would hear the flow
And lyrics in your stereo, talking bout boastin..here we go—
Goo- you eat rappers like they cereal?
Maybe like some Cheerios or maybe like that Cinnamon Toast..
Crunch, you’re bragging much, but it’s a sin when you boast (James 4:16)
Didn’t you know, we’re called to be humble, even when we’re woopin our foes
Boastin in self..it isn’t supposed to be all I hear when you spittin your flows
I’m wishin we’d grow, and focus on Christ,- he’s living He rose
But you’d rather talk about your skills and be braggadocious
Claiming you just confident, but the facts are showin
On your tracks, you’re boastin..and the masses know it
Every time you pick up the mic or write, you’re hype to spit about how you rap the dopest
And that’s atrocious, but I ain’t tryna act ferocious
Just pointin out what I clearly see amongst my associates!!

But I’m noticing how, you like to show off your style
And rock hot flows for the crowd, so you boast for a while
When I’m like “Yo that is foul” then you go in denial
Some boasting in skills and some are boasting in wealth
If you were really that nice wouldn’t it show for itself ?
Sooo stop boasting is a message that I send to rappers
I’m just quoting the Word, Proverbs 27th chapter
Let someone else give you props- and that lesson matters
We are called to be humble, that should reflect our stature
God’s not impressed with chatter, bout how you’re the best and the rest are wacker
I gotta confess and stress, that mess, really doesn’t bless our Master
I’m not servin enough, not worthy just dust, filthy, guilty, deserve to be crushed
I’m burnin with lust, it’s certainly tough, in Christ alone, I worship and trust
Adversity’s tough, so I turn to Him much, I’ll be with God for eternity cuz
I’m not earning His love, my works are just mud, but I been redeemed and purchased by blood!

Cause God he gave you your gift, and He can take it right quick
I know I was lost, so I boast in the cross, plus I ‘ll boast in weaknesses ( 2 Cor. 11:30)
He is the boss, not speaking bout Ross, your ego keeps growin cause you’re feedin it
Others boast in good deeds, call em Tyler Perry
Apart from Christ, there’s nothing good in us, that’s why that’s scary
Stop boasting about demons you bind, when Satan’s probably deceiving your mind
And keeping you blind, but Jesus did die, He is alive, so speak of His shine
You’re visitin spots, where the triggers go pop they flippin you off, they dissin the cops
You’re like “isn’t this hot?”, I witness a lot to kids on the block, I’m wising you’d stop!
Keep witnessing doc, in sin we were caught, his victory brought the win for His flock
I’m hoping you’d see that boasting in deeds, exactly what humility’s not!
This ain’t a manner of preference but commandments from heaven (Jeremiah 9: 23-24)
